PKN1(redirected from serine/threonine protein kinase N)
PKN1A gene on chromosome 19p13.12 that encodes a PKC-related serine/threonine-protein kinase involved in various cellular processes, including regulation of intermediate filaments of the actin cytoskeleton, cell migration, tumour cell invasion and transcription regulation. PKN1 regulates the cytoskeletal network by phosphorylating VIM and neurofilament proteins (e.g., NEFH, NEFL and NEFM), inhibiting their polymerisation; it is a coactivator of androgen receptor.
