STK16(redirected from serine/threonine kinase 16)
STK16A gene on chromosome 2q35 that encodes a ubiquitously expressed, membrane-associated protein kinase which both autophosphorylates and phosphorylates serine and threonine residues of target proteins. It may be involved in secretory vesicle trafficking or intracellular and TGF-beta signalling, and it may also have a role in regulating stromal-epithelial interactions during ductal morphogenesis in the breast.
