Gravida followed by a arabic numeral or preceded by a Latin prefix (primi-, secundi-, etc.) designates the pregnant woman by number of pregnancies; for example, gravida I, primigravida; a woman in her first pregnancy; gravida II, secundigravida; a woman in her second pregnancy.
