SIK2(redirected from salt-inducible serine/threonine kinase 2)
SIK2A gene on chromosome 11q23.1 that encodes a kinase which phosphorylates IRS1 in insulin-stimulated adipocytes, modulating the efficiency of insulin signal transduction. SIK2 also inhibits CREB activity by phosphorylating and repressing TORCs, the CREB-specific coactivators.
