ruffled field

ruffled field

Fringe medicine
A term used in the context of therapeutic touch referring to zones of (putative) congestion in the flow of energy, which the client may perceive as an area of denseness; to “un-ruffle” the field, the therapist sweeps his or her hands over the body several times, an act that is believed to increase and smooth out the energy flow.
