ROCK2(redirected from rho-associated protein kinase 2)
ROCK2A gene on chromosome 2p24 that encodes a protein kinase which is a key regulator of actin cytoskeleton and cell polarity. It regulates smooth muscle contraction, actin cytoskeleton organisation, stress-fibre and focal adhesion formation, and neurite retraction, as well as cell adhesion and motility via phosphorylation of ADD1, BRCA2, CNN1, DPYSL2, EP300, EZR, IRF4, MSN, MYL9/MLC2, NPM1, RDX, PPP1R12A, SORL1 and VIM. It downregulates VEGF-induced angiogenesis.
