rheumatic nodules

Etymology: Gk, rheuma, flux; L, nodulus, small knot
aggregations of fibroblasts and lymphoid cells that may accumulate in soft tissues and over bony prominences of patients afflicted with rheumatoid arthritis and rheumatic fever.

Subcutaneous nodes of fibrous tissue that may be present in patients with rheumatic fever.
