abnormal hypertrophy and curving of the nails, giving them a clawlike appearance.

onychogryphosis

Abnormal changes in finger- or toenails so that they resemble talons. This may occur spontaneously or as a result of repeated injury or CANDIDIASIS. The term derives from the name of the mythological griffon.
