West Pokot is famous for producing
pyrethrum with some of the highest content in the world.
This study was designed to investigate the impact of
pyrethrum and B.
Five min after sprays, Fastac and all the pyrethrins (
Pyrethrum 5EW,
Pyrethrum EWC, and Agroblaster) caused a higher percent mortality of Antestia bug than that of the neonicotinoid insecticide, imidacloprid (Table 1).
Experimental fields, reported Clay, are testing the efficiency of
pyrethrums as part of an integrated pest management strategy.
Extracts of Anacyclus
pyrethrum are ethnopharmacologically used to treat various diseases.
Previous chemical studies show that Anacyclus
pyrethrum has immunostimuling properties (Bendjeddou, 2010).
This required insight into the behaviour of the malaria vectors and subsequently led directly to indoor spraying with
pyrethrum. [13,16]
There is no eco-friendly control, so if you go down the chemical route,
Pyrethrum (Py Spray garden insect killer, Bug Clear gun for fruit and vegetables and Doff all in one bug spray) can be used.
From which flower is the insecticide
pyrethrum made?
Consumers can choose the botanical
Pyrethrum concentrate, derived from dried chrysanthemum flowers, or its synthetic equivalent, containing Permethrin.
The 24-metre square display includes Sempervivum,
Pyrethrum Golden Moss, Helichrysum Korma and Senecio Serpens.
Once planted, they come up every year with very little work and many are excellent cut flowers, such as
pyrethrum, right, trollius and scabious.
