In past, different procedures have been tried to relief pyloric stenosis in dogs like pyloromyotomy, pyloroplasty (Transverse or YU advancement techniques) and partial and complete pylorectomy (Slatter, 2003).
Partial and complete pylorectomy seems to be very promising techniques in patients having firm and inflexible pyloric tissue or severe mucosal hypertrophy (Slatter, 2003).
In the past different surgical interventions have been used to repair the pyloric stenosis or gastric outflow obstruction i.e pyloromyotomy , pyloroplasty, partial or complete pylorectomy (Billroth 1) Slatter (2003), pyloroduodenotomy ,Fredet-Ramstedt pyloromyotomy, antrectomy with gastroduodenostomy or gastro- jejunostomy, Heineke-Mikulicz type pyloroplasty.
