pseudoprecocity Isosexual pseudoprecocity, seen in ♀, which consists of signs of sexual maturation induced by functional ovarian tumors–eg, juvenile type of granulosa cell tumor, due to ↑ estrogens and/or androgens Clinical Development of breasts, pubic and axillary hair, stimulation and development of internal and external 2º sex organs, irregular uterine bleeding, whitish vaginal discharges, acceleration of somatic and skeletal growth, and occasionally clitoromegaly. The usual presentation is abdominal pain and swelling, but endocrine manifestations may be striking particularly when a granulosa cell tumor of either type occurs in prepubertal girls and causes isosexual pseudoprecocity
. Acute abdominal symptoms from tumor rupture and hemoperitoneum occur in 10% of cases, again in both categories.
In fewer cases, estrogenic manifestations such as menometrorrhagia and isosexual pseudoprecocity
may be noted.
No endocrine manifestations, such as isosexual pseudoprecocity
or estrogenic manifestations, were present.[sup.1] The tumour markers are usually normal.[sup.1] Our patient had normal serum alphafoetoprotein (AFP) and [beta]-HCG values.
