a test on cervical mucus about time of ovulation to evaluate its receptivity to sperm.

An examination of cervical mucus after coitus around the expected time of ovulation to assess persistence of sperm motility.

postcoital test

In the evaluation of infertile couples, sampling of the woman's cervical mucus within two hours after male ejaculation, to determine the number of actively moving sperm in the specimen. In a favorable specimen, between 6 and 20 motile sperm should be seen per high-power microscopic field.
