porin

(pŏr′ĭn) [Gr. poros, passageway]
A channel-forming protein in cell membranes that facilitates the diffusion of water and small molecules in and out of the cell.

porin

a protein in the outer MEMBRANE of Gram-negative BACTERIA (see GRAM'S STAIN that allows the passage of small polar molecules across the membrane. The concentration gradient of each transported commodity is used to drive its movement through the membrane.

multocida porin possess the capacity to alter the release of cytokines and by modulating its gene expression.
For immunohistochemistry, the following antibodies were used: complex I subunit NDUFS4 (mouse monoclonal, 1: 1000; Abcam, Cambridge, UK), complex II subunit 70 kDa Fp (mouse monoclonal, 1: 2000; MitoSciences, Eugene, Oregon), complex III subunit Core 2 (mouse monoclonal, 1: 1500; MitoSciences), complex IV subunit I (mouse monoclonal, 1: 1000; MitoSciences), complex V subunit alpha (mouse monoclonal, 1:2000; MitoSciences), porin 31HL (mouse monoclonal, 1 : 3000; MitoSciences), and VacA antibody (rabbit polyclonal, 1:1000) [39].
AVYCAZ also demonstrated in vitro activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa in the presence of some AmpC beta-lactamases, and certain strains lacking outer membrane porin.
They are, (I) reduction in drug uptake due to the loss of porin in the outer membrane, [sup][7],[21],[22] (II) increase in production of carbapenemase, [sup][10],[19],[23] and (III) combination with loss of porin in the outer membrane and production of extended spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL).
There are two major classes of porin channels produced by bacteria: general and specific.
Furthermore, numerous groups have shown that CRP impairs endothelial vasoreactivity in vivo (11).To date, eNOS has been shown to interact directly with several proteins, including heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90), calmodulin, dynamin-2, caveolin-1, the intracellular domains of certain G protein-coupled receptors, and porin, a voltage-dependent anion/cation channel (5-7, 12-15).
To the Editor: Class 2 and class 3 porin (PorB) proteins are the major proteins found in the outer membrane of Neisseria meningitidis (1); they function as porins, allowing the passage of small molecules through the outer membrane.
