polymorphous low-grade adenocarcinoma

A low-grade carcinoma of older patients that affects minor salivary glands, especially the palate (where 60% of PLGAs occur), far less often than major salivary and nasopharyngeal glands.

Management
Excision, post-operative radiation therapy.

Prognosis
Good; recurrence, 12%; local extension, 10%.
