An obsolete technique for treating berry aneurysms of the brain, which consisted in “threading” stiffened mammal hairs into the sac, effecting its resolution by thrombosis.

pilojection

(pī-lō-jĕk′shŭn) [″ + jacere, to throw]
Introduction of hairs, by use of a pneumatic gun, into an aneurysm to induce clotting in the aneurysmal sac. It has been used in treating intracranial aneurysms.
