Recently it was suggested that a histopathologic diagnosis of apocrine hidrocystoma or cystadenoma on an incisional biopsy specimen from the fingers or toes should raise the suspicion of possible underlying digital
papillary adenocarcinoma [9].
Peripheral pulmonary
papillary adenocarcinoma with prominent cilia: report of a rare case that was difficult to diagnose preoperatively.
Based on these features and diffuse positive immunostaining for TTF-1 and Napsin A, and negative staining for Thyroglobulin, a diagnosis of primary pulmonary
papillary adenocarcinoma was confirmed.
A biopsy of a left supraclavicular lymph node identified a metastatic
papillary adenocarcinoma without atypia; some rare follicular structures were filled with eosinophilic material that mimicked a colloid (figure 2).
Villoglandular
papillary adenocarcinoma of cervix associated with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia: a case report and review of literature.
Histopathological examination revealed
Papillary Adenocarcinoma of left fallopian tube extending into sub mucosa, muscularis, and serosa of fallopian tube.
These findings were consistent with a salivary gland cystadenocarcinoma of the mobile tongue, low-grade
papillary adenocarcinoma variant.
Recently, attention has been focused on dynamic changes in the lung that cause a pitfall in the diagnosis of pulmonary
papillary adenocarcinoma. (2) It is certain that when one concentrates on a specific problem, one may not notice other, perhaps peripheral, issues.
Well-Differentiated Villoglandular
Papillary Adenocarcinoma Versus Benign Mimics.--Well-differentiated villoglandular
papillary adenocarcinoma may rarely be confused with papillary endocervicitis, especially in small and very superficial biopsies or when papillary endocervicitis is very florid.
Furthermore, to examine whether elastin fibers are present in
papillary adenocarcinoma tumor of the lung, metastases of pulmonary
papillary adenocarcinomas that were hematogenic to the brain and skull (n = 2, respectively) and to the regional lymph nodes (n = 4) were stained with elastin (Figure 2, H).
If a tumor has lepidic growth, but the alveolar spaces are filled with papillary structures, the tumor is classified as
papillary adenocarcinoma. Myofibroblastic stroma is not needed to diagnose this pattern.
The differential diagnosis includes other oral cavity minor salivary gland tumors such as PA, adenoid cystic carcinoma, and sometimes low-grade
papillary adenocarcinoma of salivary gland origin (LGPASO).
