PAK6(redirected from p21-activated protein kinase 6)
PAK6A gene on chromosome 15q14 that encodes a p21-activated kinase (PAK) of the Rac/Cdc42-associated Ste20-like Ser/Thr protein kinase family, which is characterised by a highly conserved amino-terminal Cdc42/Rac interactive binding (CRIB) domain and a carboxyl-terminal kinase domain. PAKs regulate various cellular processes, including cytoskeleton rearrangement, apoptosis and the MAP kinase signalling; PAK6 interacts with androgen receptor, a steroid hormone-dependent transcription factor required for male sexual differentiation and development.
