orofacial cleft type 5A nonsyndromic cleft lip (OMIM:608874), with or without cleft palate. Orofacial cleft type 5 is linked to defects of MSX1, which encodes a homeobox protein involved in epithelial-mesenchymal signalling that has roles in craniofacial development.
