open to enrollment

open to enrollment

The status of a clinical study in which new patients/subjects can be enrolled into that study. Open to enrollment is quasi-synonymous with "open to recruitment"; however, recruitment can begin upon institutional review board (IRB) approval of the site, whereas enrollment requires availability of study supplies, subject-informed consent, etc., before eligible patients/subjects can participate.
