The pesticides were [alpha]-chlordane, [gamma]-chlordane, carbaryl, chlorpyrifos, cis-permethrin, trans-permethrin, 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D), DDE, dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT), diazinon, dicamba, methoxychlor, o-phenylphenol, pentachlorophenol, and propoxur.
Additional chemicals that were relatively highly weighted in site-specific models and associated with an increased risk of NHL included PCB 153 (Los Angeles), PCB 170 (Detroit), 2,4-D (Los Angeles), benzo(k)fluoranthene (Los Angeles), methoxychlor (Detroit), and o-phenylphenol (Iowa).
These included propoxur in the overall study population, and methoxychlor, o-phenylphenol, 2,4-D, PCB 153, and PCB 170 in individual study sites.
