Libman-Sacks endocarditis

A condition in which warty growths, discernible on ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY develop on the heart lining and especially on the valves. Unlike most forms of endocarditis these growths are not associated with bacterial infection. They are a feature of SYSTEMIC LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS (SLE). (Emanuel Libman, American physician, 1872–1946, and Benjamin Sacks, 1896–1939, American physician).
