(nī-dĭk′ə-ləs)
adj.
1. Remaining in the nest after hatching until grown or nearly grown. Used of a bird.
2. Sharing the nest of another species of animal: nidicolous mites.

(of young birds) hatching in a relatively undeveloped stage and remaining in the nest for the fledging period. Songbirds are nidicolous.
