new A&E attenderA patient who presents, usually without prior arrangement, to A&E to be seen by A&E medical and/or nursing staff for assessment and management of an injury or illness. New A&E attenders include patients who died at the scene of an accident or en route to hospital, and patients who attend after an A&E discharge. Patients who attend A&E for follow-up are termed return (review) A&E attenders.
