Pain management A general term for any neurosurgical procedure used to relieve pain–especially CA-related refractory to lesser forms of therapy–eg,  analgesics, opiates, and either nonneurolytic or neurolytic nerve blocks. Cf Analgesic ladder, Nerve block, Neurolytic block, Nonneurolytic block.
