Torticollis reported in present case was of myositic
origin, resultant of faulty intramuscular injection causing trauma to cervical muscles (Kim et al., 2006).
Myositic myopathies result in inflammatory destruction of muscle tissue.
* Infectious myositic myopathy is one of the more common types of myopathy that FPs will encounter.
There were two diffuse and one myositic type of pseudotumour.
The 17 neoplastic lesion were mostly posterior (52.9%) and myositic (23.5%) in location.
The kind of trauma that usually results in ankylosis of the TMJ is predominantly experienced in childhood, and if no treatment is undertaken for a fracture of the condyle, the myositic
mass grows in the juxta-articular tissue, resulting in a bone mass.
CT/MRI showed myositic
changes involving the left gluteal region and calcification of interspinous and supraspinous ligaments in the lower thoracic and lumbar spine (Fig 3).
