multiple subpial transection,
A surgical treatment for partial seizures in which the seizure focus cannot be resected in its entirety. Small cuts are made in the involved cortex of the brain to disrupt the occurrence of seizures. About 20% of patients suffer some new neurological symptoms as a result of the surgery. MST has been used in particular to treat seizures in Landau-Kleffner syndrome.
