CXCL9

A gene on chromosome 4q21 that encodes a cytokine that affects the growth, movement or activation of cells that participate in  immune and inflammatory responses. It is thought to be involved in T-cell trafficking.

Citing unpublished data from a postmortem study of 24 brains, Sherry Ferguson, PhD, research psychologist at the FDA National Center for Toxicology Research, said the brains of black patients studied had significantly higher levels of IL-1beta, TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL), and monokine induced by gamma interferon (MIG).
