micro-method

micro-method

The use of small samples (100 mg or 100 µl) for analyses, often for very sick patients or premature infants, in whom multiple specimens are required but for whom too many blood draws can cause iatrogenic anaemia. “Micro” samples may be obtained in early neonates by heel-sticks with capillary tubes.
