merlin

(mer'lin),
A tumor suppressor protein encoded by the neurofibromatosis type 2 gene and important in the pathogenesis of neurofibromatosis type 2.
(1) Merlin. A cytoskeleton scaffolding protein [OMIM 607379] which links actin filaments to cell membrane glycoproteins. It is primarily located in nervous tissue, but is also present in foetal tissues at adherens junctions.
