a slight projection, sometimes two (superior and inferior), in the middle line of the posterior surface of the body of the mandible, giving attachment to the geniohyoid muscle (below) and the genioglossus (above).

A small process on the inner surface of the mandible at the back of the symphysis formed of one or more small projections (genial tubercles).

A small eminence of bone found on the lingual side of the mandible at the midline that serves as attachment site for the genioglossus and geniohyoid muscles.
