Memory clinics may use a team (neurologist, mental health nurse, psychologist, occupational therapist) approach to assess a patient’s mental status by an interview, physical exam and, if warranted, brain imaging. Early flags for dementia include changes in performing daily tasks, managing finances or coping in social settings.
