megacystis-megaureter syndrome

 [meg″ah-sis´tis meg″ah-u-re´ter]
chronic ureteral dilatation associated with hypotonia and dilatation of the bladder (megacystis) and gaping of the ureteral orifices (megaureter), permitting vesicoureteric reflux of urine, and resulting in chronic pyelonephritis.
