median-ulnar nerve communicationsAn anatomic variation (OMIM:155150) of peripheral nerves in which the median and ulnar nerves anastomose, which occurs in 28% of the general population and in 62% of families in which the variant is identified. Awareness of the variation is important in evaluating median and ulnar neuropathies.
