Based on the results of earlier studies (summarized above), we expected to find hearing-loss related FA decreases and MD increases along auditory pathways (specifically, in the white matter near the inferior colliculi, medial geniculate nuclei, and auditory cortices) and tinnitus-related increases in FA (and decreases in MD) along auditory and auditorylimbic pathways.
