surgical sterilisation

Sterilisation that prevents the passage of sperm—either after deployment (tubal ligation) or pre-deployment (vasectomy).

Surgical sterilisation is the most common contraceptive method used by women > 30 years in the US; 28% of those age 15–44 have been surgically sterilised.
