mechanical infusion pump A device for controlled administration of therapeutics (e.g., analgesics, antimicrobials, chemotherapy) in which the flow rate is controlled by special tubing and a mechanical device with a reservoir.
Small reservoirs require that the drug is stable at high concentrations.
