matrix metalloproteinase 14

matrix metalloproteinase 14

An enzyme encoded on chromosome 14q11-q12 which degrades extracellular matrix and other tissue substrates.

Substrates
Collagens I, II and III; casein, k-elastin, fibronectin, laminin, vitronectin and proteoglycans; large tenascin-C, entactin; α1-AT, α2M; GST-TNF; MMP-2; MMP-13.
