DCP2(redirected from mRNA-decapping enzyme 2)
DCP2A gene on chromosome 5q22.2 that encodes an enzyme required for mRNA breakdown, during normal mRNA turnover and nonsense-mediated mRNA decay. DCP2 plays a role in replication-dependent histone mRNA degradation; it is more active towards mRNAs lacking a poly(A) tail.
