lipiduria

the presence of oil or fat in the urine, such as in the nephrotic syndrome or after skeletal trauma; called also lipuria.

Nephrotic Syndrome: Transudative pleural effusion with volume overload features and 24 hour urinary protein showing >3.5gm and lipiduria and serum cholesterol >180mg/dl and hypoalbuminemia of <3.5gm/dl.
Nephrotic syndrome presents clinically with massive proteinuria and hypoalbuminemia, accompanied by variable forms of edema, hyperlipidemia, and lipiduria, all as a result of increased glomerular permeability (1), and it can be associated with nephritic syndrome when some or all of its clinical concomitant manifestations (arterial hypertension, hematuria, hypocomplementemia and renal failure) are present.
