the localized thickening of the superior fascia of the pelvic diaphragm anteriorly that anchors the prostate and neck of the bladder to the pubis on each side. It usually contains smooth muscle.

ligamentum puboprostaticum laterale

An obsolete designation for the lateral extension of the ligamentum puboprostaticum; while these fibres are not separated officially, they are popularly termed lateral puboprostatic ligaments.
