leukemic hiatus

leukemic hiatus

a condition observed in acute myelogenous leukemia in which there are numerous myeloblasts and a number of mature neutrophils in the peripheral blood, with few or no intermediate forms.

leukemic hiatus

The presence of blast cells and mature cells without an orderly morphologic progression between the two. It is a characteristic of acute myelogenous leukemia.
