leiomyosarcoma

A rare malignant tumour of smooth muscle sometimes affecting the womb or the stomach. The leiomyosarcoma of stomach accounts for less than 1% of stomach cancers. Unlike stomach carcinomas it grows slowly and spreads late and the outlook after surgery is usually good.
