the depression in the floor of the caudal end of the primordial pharynx, continued downward on the ventral wall of the foregut; from it are developed the lower part of the larynx and the trachea, bronchi, and lungs.

laryngotracheal groove

A furrow along the inside ventral surface of the anterior portion of the embryonic gut tube; this groove will give rise to the lower part of the larynx and the trachea, bronchi, and lungs.
