laparoscopy, three-dimensional

laparoscopy, three-dimensional

A system of LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY that provides the operator with a three-dimensional display of the abdominal organs. The method uses a single-rod-lens endoscope with two miniaturized video cameras. Active liquid-crystal shutter spectacles must be worn. A three-dimensional view improves accuracy, dexterity, speed, and safety.
