(lap″ă-rō-sis-tot′ŏ-mē) [ laparo- + cystotomy]An obsolete procedure in humans in which abdominal surgery was performed to remove the contents of a cyst or an extrauterine fetus. The procedure is used primarily in veterinary medicine to extract kidney stones.
