KPNA5(redirected from karyopherin alpha 5)
KPNA5A gene on chromosome 6q22.1 that encodes an alpha subunit of karyopherin, which plays a key role in nuclear protein import as an adapter protein for nuclear receptor KPNB1. It binds specifically and directly to substrates containing nuclear localisation sequence (NLS) motif.
