Karyokinesis was observed to proceed perpendicular to the egg surface (Fig.
Tumor cells were spindle-shaped with dark and large nuclei and pathological karyokinesis. Glioma had swirling cancer nests, tumor cells had invaded surrounding tissues with clear boundary, and capsular structure was observed in some tumor samples.
Histologically, however, the mitotic index in the Cyp1a2(-/-) mice is only slightly elevated (not statistically significant), and the percent binucleated hepatocytes (which reflects hepatocyte hypertrophy and karyokinesis without cytokinesis) in Cyp1a2(-/-) is almost identical to that in the Cyp1a2 (+/+) wild type.
For all cells, the time required to progress from metaphase (initial chromatin condensation) to cell division (end of karyokinesis) showed a range of 9 to 16 mm with a mean of 12.8 [+ or -] 2.1 min.
