Adsorption Ratio

The amount of a chemical adsorbed by a soil or sediment—the solid phase—divided by the amount of chemical in the solution phase, which is at equilibrium with the solid phase, at a fixed solid/solution ratio; the adsorption ratio is usually expressed as mg of chemical per gramme of soil or sediment.
