jogging

Running for enjoyment or to maintain physical fitness. In contrast to running, jogging is not a competitive exercise and is performed at a submaximal intensity.

jogging

Slow running conducted within the limits of the subject's ability to supply oxygen to the muscles for an indefinite period. Regular jogging increases the capacity for exertion, lowers blood pressure, improves the function and performance of the heart and may diminish the progress of arterial disease. Beginners should build up distance very gradually and should be equipped with suitable footwear.
