job plan

A formal plan of work-related activities that a consultant at an NHS trust in the UK agrees to carry out during the year, which generally includes ten 4-hour sessions (programmed activities—PAs) per week, including 7 to 9 sessions of direct clinical care; the remaining time is spent on supporting professional activities. Integral to the consultant’s appraisal is an annual review of the job plan.
